NordicTrack® Signs on as Presenting Sponsor of Ragnar Relay Series

Leading Home Fitness Company Supports the Series as Official
Fitness Equipment and Apparel Provider

KAYSVILLE, UT June 17, 2010 –NordicTrack®, a subsidiary of Icon Health & Fitness, has announced its sponsorship of the nation’s top provider of overnight relay races, Ragnar Relay Series. This year, Ragnar Relay Series presented by NordicTrack has expanded to 12 events and will race across much of the nation’s most beautiful terrain. The company challenges teams of up to 12 runners on courses of between 180 and 200 miles, across the country.

The Ragnar Relay Series presented by NordicTrack is experiencing dramatic growth as team registrations numbers are sky-rocketing and selling out races months in advance. From 2009 to 2010 the series has projecting a 100 percent increase in registrations for all its events. Founded in 2004, Ragnar races have grown from 200 participants to more than 20,000 in 2009, with 40,000 projected for 2010.

“We are proud to be the presenting sponsor of the Ragnar Relay Series and to support the fastest growing running category,” said Colleen Logan, Vice President of Marketing for NordicTrack. “Our company embraces athletes and fitness-buffs alike that enjoy adrenaline-pumping adventure and fitness. Ragnar Relay Series brings such an amazing and unique experience to runners and we want to support that movement.”

The fitness industry giant, NordicTrack, recently introduced iFit Live powered by Google Maps, the first product that merges fitness equipment and Google Maps technology. With this new technology, you can get on your NordicTrack treadmill, elliptical or strider at home and walk, run or hike through national parks, world-famous cities and scenic outdoor locations on special workout trails found at www.iFit.com. The course for Ragnar Relay Wasatch Back, the nation’s largest overnight relay race, is one of iFit Live’s featured courses.

The start line in Logan, Utah for the Ragnar Relay Wasatch Back is at the corporate headquarters of NordicTrack, the leading brand owned by Logan-based ICON Health & Fitness

“We are pleased to have the great support of such an established brand like NordicTrack,” said Chris Infurchia, CEO of Ragnar Relay Series presented by NordicTrack. “NordicTrack understands runners and provides them with quality training equipment. Their dedication to fitness aligns perfectly with our mission to provide a memorable running experience.”

Each leg of a Ragnar Race varies in difficulty so elite and novice runners can run together in teams. Each team is responsible for providing two support vehicles, with six runners in each vehicle. The first vehicle drops off the first runner and drives ahead to the first exchange point. Teams repeat this pattern for six legs until they hand off to their second vehicle. This leapfrogging pattern continues day and night all the way to the much anticipated finish line.
