You can now pay for volunteers.

We will again allow teams to make a $120 per volunteer payment in lieu of providing volunteers. In return, volunteers will be provided for your team and your volunteer obligation will be complete. To "Pay for Volunteers", go to www.swagnar.com, and click on "Pay for Volunteers", enter the number of volunteers you would like to pay for and complete the transaction. We hope this new, separate page will improve record keeping and efficiency. You can also find the link to pay for volunteers on the "Volunteers” page of the Northwest Passage website. Teams will have until June 16, 2008, to pay for volunteers.
After June 16th, teams will be required to provide their own volunteers.

You can now donate to Room to Read.

This year, the Northwest Passage will benefit Room to Read, www.roomtoread.org. Teams will have a place to raise funds which are above and beyond the amount to "Pay for Volunteers" for Room to Read, through Active.com. You can find the "Donate Now" link on the bottom left hand side of the Northwest Passage homepage or by visiting http://www.active.com/donate/nwp08. As in the past, teams will create a fundraising page on active.com where donations can be made directly to each team. The team that raises the most money for Room to Read will receive a free team entry into any 2009 MyoMed Ragnar Relay. (We will take both the “Pay for Volunteers” amount donated by teams and the amounts donated through Active.com and add them together to determine which team has raised the most money.)
